The Cherry Reviver
So I wanted to make a Corpse Reviver #2, but had run out of Lilet Blanc. Inspired by other variations, I swapped the Lilet for Maraska Maraschino Cherry Liqueur and added a squeeze of blood orange for a nice pink color. One guest recommended I call this “The Panty Dropper” – although no panty actually dropped, I was glad to have a young lady describe it as such. However, I think the name “Cherry Reviver” hits the nail on the head (so to speak).
Much like a Corpse Reviver #2, the result is an eye opening, refreshing and, well, intoxicating potion. Served ice-cold, this deceptively sweet and tart drink is a fun summer crowd pleaser.
The Cherry Reviver
1 oz Dry Gin
1 oz Grand Mariner or Contrieu
1 oz lemon juice
1 oz Maraschino liqueur
Dash absinthe
A squeeze of blood orange juice (optional)
Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.
